Your the first I've seen use that method to prepare the raisins. Certainly looks worth trying.

gr8 video. a couple things, you were talking about the stainless steel, yes yes yes, however i noticed you used a plastic potato masher in hot water and that is a no no no . ALL plastic (Even the stuff the FDA (Food and DEATH Admin) 'claims' is safe is not ESPECIALLY once hot. All plastics leach chemicals AND dyes, detergents and other bad stuff used during manufacturing process.

AND a suggestion and question. So for getting the slug out, you might want to try a french press. the new ones work very well compared to the old school ones. fast and easy put ALL the wine in press down and pour out the filtered product.

Question why not or couldnt you soak the raisins in boiling water for 15 -20 minutes to get them soft then put them in a ninja blender and use the whole thing (Rather than wasting the pulp) I am sure a good amount of the healthy stuff is in the skins as well a good blender will make it so fine it might work for this.

I'm new to you. I have 2 questions or comments. Fill the airlock before putting on the bottle otherwise the yeast activity will not let the water equal out due to fermentation. Also what temperature do you store it at?

are the raisins absolutely necessary for all types of wine? or is that just recommended for grape wine?

  • Kelly Carver
    Posted September 22, 2018 12:02 PM

Jesus MADE and drank wine. And NO, it was NOT grape juice as many claim. The Bible says that we are ALLOWED to drink, we are just not to get DRUNK.

Cut the top off a 2 liter pop bottle and you will have a much better funnel for getting the sugar into the jug.

    Alcohol production.
Water, sugar, raisins and yeast make your brew, ferment as usual.
Freeze some in a container (try a can) when frozen break up the ice with a screwdriver.
Place the crushed ice in a sieve over a bowl, store in the freezer, wait a few hours and the bowl will have pure alcohol in it.
You can then fortify your wine or add to any drink.

when the wine is finished can you strain it and add fresh yeast and sugar and deferment it to get a higher alcohol volume

should have macerated the raisins with a bit of water in a food processor. theres natural yeasts in the skin of the raisins you killed when you heated the raisins in the pot.

i can almost guarantee the soundwaves did bot break the bottle. kudos for giving the the benefit of the doubt, however, I was a teen once and I wouldve told the same story. even though I tried a 360 kickflip with socks on and kicked the board at your bottles.
