Very nice job, looks professional!! I have a ton of corks, so need to know what to do with them. I would use Watco stains though not Minwax. Much better translucent color. Also, if you thin an interior Polyurethane with Mineral Spirits (or Paint Thinner in CA), you will need multiple coats, but it soaks in and looks like a hand rubbed finish. This is good if you use fancy wood frame.

Nice project! I have to confess I was thinking to myself "wow what a nice excuse to drink some wine" then as you mentioned that one can find these corks at Amazon… No problem I'll drink some wine anyway, cheers!

This is a great simple project. You could also cut the corks and make an kind of "endgrain" version.

You lost me at Fes….wait a minute…. There's a whole bunch of Ryobi green going on there! That's a breath of fresh air from all the Festool green we're forced to inhale sometimes! Homemade Modern is sponsored by Ryobi, wondering if you are too Pete. Good brand for the average joe, and great job of featuring the brand without being obnoxious about it, even if you are just a fan and not officially sponsored. Cheers, Chris.

Cool project Pete. To make the corks go further you could cut them in half long ways as well. An easy jig if you have a band saw is the clamp a 3/4" copper pipe center with the blade and you can push them through keeping your hands clear and it goes pretty quick. Also I'm still pulling for you to build a woodworkers bench like I commented on Facebook. Would do you wonders. Keep up the good work brother.
