Rumor has it, the combination of sanitizer and being a mariners fan has landed this guy in the nut house before video 3 could be uploaded.

There are many components to creating an amazing wine. One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Pavas grape plan (check it out on google) without a doubt the best course that I have ever heard of. Check out this interesting site.

    Doesn't sanitizer impact flavor?

  • jimboStar
    Posted September 23, 2018 3:30 AM

I sanitize also, but I rinse it or get it all out of my jug first. my racking carboys are never foaming like that. I wonder how much of the starsan taste you're getting in your wine. You only need like a cup of sanitizer solution – diluted – in a Carboy. rinse it around let it air-dry

One part I must be missing – it says wait 14 days or so to transfer to secondary, but on the card that is hanging around the carboy, it says it only took 6, is there a reason for the difference?

Is each carboy smaller then the next? Or do you top it up with water after loosing a bit on the bottom of the previous one

Great videos. I don't think you overdid the sanitizing at all. If other viewers think it's preferable to risk contamination, that's their problem. I'll be trying this, this week!

Could you give us an update on the watermelon wine, taste etc. I am looking at making this and there are lot or different recipes out there but there is really none that go over when it is ready to drink and the actually taste of it.
    Thanks

Hi Justin. I am ready to run for the hills. Some say add 5 more campden tablets for each transfer. Some say only 2 times total- the first time and then at bottling. Is there a true way or is it all subjective? Thanks!!

I've always wondered how watermelon wine would taste. How is it? How sweet? How much of the watermelon flavor does it hold? What kind of alcohol content does it yield?
