You put me off when you advised us not to shop for wine at a grocery store. Where I live, grocery stores provide wines that have every bit of the quality and value as the juice in wine shops.

I like what you're doing Whitney 🙂 Importer tip is one I have never heard and makes such good sense! Can you recommend a good online sommelier course? I want to get some kind of certification for my resume.

How to buy wine: Place the wine on the register and give the cashier the money. They will then let you take the wine out of the store without calling the cops.

Found Chateau Ste Michelle 50th anniversary Cab Sav. in the grocery store. Total Wine is a longer drive from my house and I grant they have better prices / selection- but the grocery store is awesome if you play it right. I got $74 worth of wine for $56 AND got a free pie…lol! Chateau Ste Michelle is a go-to staple I know I like. Affordable & all around solid wine for the buck. Also, Hungarian wine as well as Romania’s Recas wines are awesome and my favorite bottle is $6!!! Eastern Europe is over looked & the wine regions are similar latitudes to the Bordeaux region! Just a nickels worth of 2c.

Hi, enjoyed your youtube thing, I am 68 and not sure what you call it.  Anyway I have a question. I lived in Virginia for 20= years and found a wine shop where one of the owners helped me find wines. He turned me onto a Spanish red and told me not to be afraid of the price, not because it was too expensive but of how cheap it was. the wine had a cheap it was. My question is based on this bottle. I did not like the first glass but really enjoyed the next glass as the next bottle several days later. As long as I had a bottle every couple of weeks I always enjoyed this wine, if I did not have this wine for a couple of months I went through the bad first glass taste. I had several friends who had the same experience.
Why? Can a pallet be changed from just one glass? I hope you have an answer.

I hate to break it to you, but not everyone lives close to a wine shop, so yes, their best bet will be the supermarket.

I always go around the SAQ (the exclusive booze shop in the province) for a couple minutes then leave with some generic Moscato.

    I have no taste hahaha.

BUT I will soon start making my own wine. I really really want to start that. Not commercially ,just to make it and have cheap booze whenever I want.

Is it weird I rarely drink wine with food? XD When I'm eating I want a liquid I can more chug, which is usually ice tea or water. lol Chugging is not good with alcoholic drinks. >.< I still want to feel my face after.

What was the app that you recommended? I think I didn't get it from the video and cannot find it. I used to use Vivino, but they stopped supporting Windows devices some time ago so I cannot use it any more. Now I use mainly Cellartracker, but I think that it is more about inventory app and not very much like Vivino.

I like discounts.. In Finland it's illegal to sell wine with discounts so you don't get any. But being a regular still helps as you get a tips about new products etc.

Oh no.. I can so agree. I always asks the staff about wines. Even when I "know" everything already. It's mainly because I don't know, but also it is a very good way to learn when you hear about it from someone other. It probably also makes the staff know more about me and my taste when I talk to them about wine.

what do you think of online wine shops, the one we use we put an amount into your account monthly then after three months or so we can get some wine they use smaller winemakers and some of the wine has been fatastic
